FAQ

Questions about Boardesa.

Short answers for using the board, saving work, privacy, exports, and support.

Does Boardesa require an account?

No. Boardesa opens directly in the browser and does not require login, registration, or a workspace setup.

Where is my board stored?

Save to browser uses localStorage on your device. Downloaded .boardesa files are controlled by you. Boardesa does not upload board content to a server.

Can I import images or screenshots?

Yes. Use Import image, paste an image from the clipboard, or drop a supported image onto the board. This is useful for screenshot annotation, support notes, and visual explanations.

Can I export as PDF?

Yes. Boardesa supports PNG, SVG, and PDF export. PNG is useful for quick images, SVG for scalable diagrams, and PDF for handouts, documentation, or sharing outside the app.

What is a .boardesa file?

A .boardesa file is an editable Boardesa board file. It stores board objects and settings so you can import it again later instead of keeping only a flattened image or PDF.

Can I use Boardesa for teaching?

Yes. Teachers and tutors can sketch examples, add sticky notes, explain concepts, annotate screenshots, and export lesson recaps as PNG or PDF.

Can I use it for support or troubleshooting?

Yes. Support teams can import a screenshot, mark the relevant area, show steps with connectors, and export a privacy-reviewed visual for a reply or help article.

Does Boardesa support SVG export?

Yes. SVG export is available for boards that should stay crisp in documentation, diagrams, and scalable visual notes.

Does it work on mobile or tablet?

Boardesa works in modern browsers and supports pointer and touch input. A larger screen is more comfortable for detailed boards, while mobile and tablet use are best for quick notes and review.

Is my board uploaded to a server?

No. Board content is handled locally in the browser unless you choose to export or share a downloaded file yourself.

Does Boardesa work offline?

After the app files are loaded by the browser, core drawing can continue locally. Reloading the site, analytics, policy pages, and external services may still require a network connection.

What tools are included now?

The current board includes select, pen, marker, eraser, text, sticky notes, image import, connectors, line styles, arrows, rectangles, rounded rectangles, diamonds, circles, backgrounds, undo, redo, browser save/load, .boardesa files, and PNG/SVG/PDF export.

How are cookies and ads handled?

Informational pages use a cookie banner and Google consent settings. See the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy for how analytics and advertising may use storage.

Are ads required to use the whiteboard?

No. The drawing surface is designed to work without ads, accounts, or a payment wall. If advertising is enabled on informational pages, it should not cover tools, mimic navigation, start downloads, or make the board harder to use.

What should I avoid putting on a board?

Avoid passwords, API keys, payment details, medical records, legal records, private addresses, customer identifiers, and other highly sensitive information. If you need a diagram about sensitive work, use neutral labels such as "User", "Account", "Provider", or "Step 1" before exporting.

Is Boardesa only for one subject or profession?

No. The product is intentionally universal. It works for quick lessons, product thinking, notes, diagrams, coaching, study sessions, and lightweight planning.

Can I collaborate with another person?

Boardesa does not create shared rooms or accounts. For collaboration, export PNG/SVG/PDF or send a .boardesa file through your preferred email, chat, document, or meeting tool.

How can I send feedback?

Use the Contact page for product feedback, bug reports, privacy questions, or general requests.

Why does the site include guide and use-case pages?

The app is useful on its own, but the informational pages help visitors understand practical workflows, safe export habits, privacy choices, and common uses before they open a board. They also make the site easier to navigate for people who arrive from search, documentation, or shared links.
